BEEF PELLETS ARE AVAILABLE IN BULK, BULKA BAG AND 20KG BAGS.
Beef Pellets are a grain based pellet (large 8mm diameter) for the energy and protein supplementation of cattle on limited pasture, and to help maintain condition with extra protein and energy during periods of feed shortage. It is designed to be fed in conjunction with the consumption of fibre forage such as mature pasture, cereal hay or straw.
Features and benefits :
- Contains Rumensin as a rumen modifier for improved liveweight gains and feed conversion efficiency, and as an aid in the control of bloat.
- Contains Acid Buf as a buffer to aid in the prevention of rumen acidosis (grain poisoning).
Feeding Recommendations :
As all feeding systems and requirements are different, it is recommended you seek the advice of a nutritionist to best develop a suitable feeding program for your requirements and feeding rations. As a low fibre high grain supplement, the pellets are designed for feeding at up to 1% of body weight per day, in conjunction with fibre forage. They can be trailed out sparsely in long runs or fed from self feeders with slides set right down to control intake. When commencing to feed pellets, an introductory adaptation period over 2 weeks is recommended to condition the rumen to the pellet ingredients. Give special attention to controlling the introduction of pellets to excessively hungry or drought affected stock. During the introduction, start to offer pellets at 0.2% of body weight per day and slowly increase the daily amount over 10 – 14 days up to around 1% of body weight per day, with fibre always available to make up the balance of the total diet intake. Ensure that clean fresh water is available at all times.
